Dominique Astruc AndersonVisions of the Rainforest
Anderson’s tropical rain forests, their residents, seasides and mountains are painted at different levels of abstraction, often with bright colors. With a variety of viewpoints, such as a birds-eye view, a worm-eye view, and the more traditional human eye and perspective, she portrays the natural world of Costa Rica and occasionally other places. Painting is at once a strong personal impulse to explore and a place of peace and of connection between herself and the world that she feels lucky to appreciate. Through her work, she shares her perception of nature’s beauty. The paintings are mixed-media on canvas or panel. Anderson works with acrylic and oil paint, artist markers and pencil to fulfill her esthetic objectives.
