       First Friday, November 3rd, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM
      traditional November/December exhibition:

      Aggie Zed: Congregation

Every year in November and December, Chroma presents an exhibition of Aggie Zed’s newest work. It’s that time of the year when winter’s chill looms large. Enchantment must be relied upon to stave off the darkening hours and the specters that lurk within, to provide us the necessary grit and pluck – in the delightful company of a little dark humor..

Zed assembles her little characters into congregations of humans, animals, cyborgs, or some fantastical therianthropic combination of the three, but, as always, they express the same tenderness, cautions, pains and paranoias as they confront the terms of life; fragile beings just trying to make it through. There is always Zed’s wit and compassion baked into the deeply expressive porcelain faces and complex scaffoldings of her wire, lead and ceramic figures, or painted into her humming mixed media vignettes.
Edie Read’s show, “Wing“, and Sara Clark’s show, “Ornatus Mundi“, continue in Vault Virginia’s Great Halls

Gallery Viewing Hours are weekdays from 10-4, and by private appointment by contacting Deborah at artlab@chromaprojects.com

The entrance to Chroma/Vault Virginia is located off the Downtown Mall on 3rd Street S.E., across from the Front Porch Music School.
