In Bill Atwood’s world, nature and architecture marry in dynamic and fantastical ways. A practicing modernist architect for many years, Atwood’s fondness for geometry translates the human, animal and insect forms that capture his fancy into brightly hued, robustly layered tectonics of triangles, rectangles and arcs. From these conglomerations  the animal or insect materializes as much in the viewer’s mind as in the artist’s. For FIGMENTS, Atwood is presenting several series of works, mostly constructions and collage work, but all with Atwood’s inimitable, extroverted expressions of joyful, chaotic, eccentricity.
