Ruminant features Tim Michel’s newest work. Michel, most known for his captivating prints of landscapes inspired locally and in Maine, has moved from seeing and describing the characteristics of the land in form, and degrees of abstraction to personal observations on the changing nature of time. Looking to pattern’s evidences in nature, Michel seeks to translate it as the dynamic simultaneity of time.
Lara Call Gastinger is exhibiting an overview of her highly discerning, articulated botanical watercolors in Documenting Fall and Winter.
This survey of Gastinger’s exquisite renderings presents paintings selected from the past decade of field work. The collection includes watercolors from her two gold medal exhibits at London’s Royal Horticultural Society as well as her paintings of specimens and natural observations made during forays throughout the Piedmont and Blue Ridge of Virginia during the autumn and winter seasons.
