The Healing Symphony and the Beggar’s Bench
Wood, photographs, interior décor
Alan Box Levine is a master at seizing a room and creating a sculptural installation. In this exhibition he will be combining two shows: the Healing Symphony and the Beggar’s Bench.
The Healing Symphony is a grouping of monochrome photographs circa 1900, assembled into eclectic simple pine box frames.
The Beggar’s Bench showcases a new perspective of austere furniture using old character wood, handed down by friends and colleagues.
This show will use low lighting, with a greyscale of colors and hues, evoking a visual meditation of impermanence, imperfection and incompleteness.
When it comes to designing new installations, the material will either drive the creative process and final design, or the type of design will lean toward a certain material.
