Following Browning, Susan Williamson was editor-in-chief. Her efforts brought many new developments to the magazine and although, living in Florida currently, she too has remained a friend of Streetlight. Thanks, Susan!

The staff has changed many times since those early issues but in this online issue you will find editorial work of some members of the old staff. Sharon Leiter, whose unmatchable eye for good poetry made issue 5 of Streetlight such a treat has come back for this issue. Trudy Hale, fiction editor for issue 5 is now co-editor in chief. We have also gained some new editors. Judy Longley, poet and teacher, joins Sharon on the poetry desk. George Kamide, a rising star, will be editing fiction. Aaron Weiner will handling creative non-fiction and Elizabeth Howard will be the editor for art. You can see the results of their efforts in this online issue. This first online issue of Streetlight features work from some of the best writers in Charlottesville and beyond, but not as many as we would have liked. The good news is that going online, we will be able to appear four times a year.

We’ll be bringing you even more of wealth of work being done in this area and in the region. And perhaps new and exciting voices from afar. Once a week, between issues, a different member of the staff will be updating this blog with his or her own personal contribution. We hope you’ll tune in frequently. Enjoy.
